Direct Billing to Insurance Guelph

The Patient's Responsibilities

Direct Billing to Insurance | Scottsdale Dental Centre - Guelph Family Dental ClinicThere are more than 30,000 dental plan contracts in Ontario, and each one is a little different from the next. As a smart consumer, you should make it your job to understand the details of your dental plan, and to supply your dental plan administrator with necessary information such as pre-treatment forms, claim forms or any supplementary information. You are also responsible for making arrangements for payment to your dentist for the dental care received.

Our Responsibilities

As your dentists, in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and applicable regulations, we will give you information on available treatment options appropriate to address your dental care needs, regardless of the nature and extent of your dental plan coverage. In addition, we will assist you by supplying information required to enable you to receive benefits to which you may be entitled under your dental plan.

How Direct Billing To Insurance Works

At Scottsdale Dental Centre, we understands dentistry can be expensive. So we try to ensure we make treatment as affordable for as many people as possible. We will instantaneously electronically submit your claim to your dental insurance company. Directing billing to insurance is very simple:

This method requires your benefits provider to allow for ‘assignment of benefits’ and some extra paperwork to be completed before it can be setup. So when you finish your appointment, you only pay for your portion of the treatment, and the rest will get directly sent to us. Any balance that has not been sent to us will be automatically charged to your credit card.

For example:

  1. You finish your appointment and the fee is $100
  2. Based on a pre-determination or an immediate electronic response, your benefits cover $80.
  3. You will pay the $20 balance.
  4. In case there are any errors, any remaining balance will be automatically charged to your credit card.
