Scottsdale Dental Centre is located at 630 Scottsdale Drive, Guelph, just off Stone Road West, minutes from Stone Road Mall and directly accessible from the Kortright Road and Stone Road corridor. We have free on-site parking directly in front of the practice.
If you’re coming from the University of Guelph area, the Village by the Arboretum, Kortright Hills, or the Stone Road commercial district, we are likely the closest established dental practice to you.
Who we are
We are an independently owned family dental practice that has been at this location since 1987. We are not a chain, not a corporate group, and not a franchise. Every decision we make is guided by what’s right for our patients, not by ownership targets or quarterly revenue goals.
I’m Dr. Ahmad, the principal dentist and owner. I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto and a hospital-based General Practice Residency at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut, a program completed alongside Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Anaesthesia, and Emergency Medicine departments. I’ve been seeing patients at this practice since 2007 and this is my community. I’m not going anywhere.
What we offer, and why it matters that it’s all under one roof
One of the things that sets us apart from many practices in the Stone Road area is the depth of what we offer in-house. For most patients, this means you will never need to be referred to a specialist elsewhere.
We provide general and family dentistry for all ages, dental implants including complex cases with sinus lifts and bone grafting, sedation dentistry for anxious patients, wisdom teeth removal, root canal therapy, sleep apnea and snoring appliances, TMJ treatment and Botox for jaw pain, Zoom whitening, Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry including veneers and smile makeovers, children’s dentistry including sleep breathing assessment, oral cancer screenings, digital dentures, and same-day emergency appointments.
We also accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and offer direct billing to most major insurance providers.
Who we serve in the Stone Road area
The Stone Road corridor is one of Guelph’s most diverse and growing communities. We serve University of Guelph students, faculty, and staff. We serve young families in the newer subdivisions south and west of Stone Road. We serve long-established residents in Kortright Hills and the Village by the Arboretum. We serve seniors in the area and multi-generational families: grandparents and grandchildren, who have been coming to this practice for decades.
We genuinely care about this neighbourhood. We’ve watched it grow and change for 38 years and we consider it our home.
Evening hours and accessibility
One of the most common reasons families in the Stone Road area choose us is convenience. We offer appointments between 8am and 8pm Monday through Friday, which means you can book before work, during a lunch break, or after the school day ends without taking time off.
We are also adding Saturday availability to better serve working families, because we understand that weekday appointments aren’t always possible.
A note on second opinions
If you’ve recently received a dental treatment recommendation from another practice and you’re not sure whether it’s right for you, we offer second opinion consultations. These are typically covered by your existing dental insurance benefits, so there is often little or no out-of-pocket cost.
Dr. Ahmad is hospital-trained with clinical experience across a wide range of complex procedures. He will review your records honestly and tell you what he actually thinks, not what serves our schedule.
