Direct Billing to Insurance
The Patient's Responsibilities
There are more than 30,000 dental plan contracts in Ontario, and each one is a little different from the next. As a smart consumer, you should make it your job to understand the details of your dental plan, and to supply your dental plan administrator with necessary information such as pre-treatment forms, claim forms or any supplementary information. You are also responsible for making arrangements for payment to your dentist for the dental care received.
Our Responsibilities
How Our Office Works
We prefer simplicity of process at our office. So when you finish your appointment, you pay us, and we submit your claim. Then in a couple of business days, your insurance company reimburses you!
Bonus! Use your credit cards to earn rewards points. After all, you get your money back from the insurance company in a couple of days anyway.
For example:
- You finish your appointment and the fee is $100.
- You pay us $100 and we submit your claim to your insurance company instantly electronically (so you don’t have to do it) .
- If your insurance company pays 90%, then in a couple of business days, you get your $90 back.
- If your insurance company pays 100%, then in a couple of business days, you will get your entire $100 back and you won’t be out of pocket anything!
This option requires your benefits provider to allow for ‘assignment of benefits’ and some extra paperwork to be completed before it can be setup. So when you finish your appointment, you pay for your portion of the treatment, and the rest will get directly sent to us. Any balance will be automatically charged to your credit card.
For example:
- You finish your appointment and the fee is $100
- Based on a pre-determination or an immediate electronic response, your benefits cover $80.
- You will pay the $20 balance.
- In case there are any errors, any remaining balance will be automatically charged to your credit card.
